Toy Safety and Little Dolly Clothes Shop

All of Little Dolly Clothes Shop's items are UKCA and CE labelled for toy safety.

This means that they have undergone a strict set of rigorous tests and checks for strength and flammability, and the fabrics used are brand new, clean and have all been laboratory tested for safe dyes and chemicals. As such, all of Little Dolly Clothes Shop's items are suitable for children of all ages.

There are a very few exceptions to the actual fabric testing, and most of them have now been phased out completely, or will be by the end of the year. These are all specific items that have been on sale in previous years, and which Trading Standards have agreed to me continuing to sell, thereby allowing me to use up fabric stock- which again is all brand new, clean and otherwise unused.
These items have passed all other tests easily, and the commonly sourced fabrics have been pre-washed prior to use.

With each new set of changes to the toy standards regulations I of course do my utmost to source new documents, new fabrics where necessary, or put my items through further testing to ensure that my dolly clothes are always compliant as quickly as possible.

If you have any queries on this, or on anything else, then please don't hesitate to get in touch!

PLEASE NOTE : Since officially leaving the EU due to Brexit, there has been a new labelling system introduced for toy selling within, and to the UK (except for Northern Ireland).

The testing standards themselves are the same as for CE marking, however a new mark- the UKCA mark, is now required on all toys new to the market in 2021. CE labelling is still required for selling to Northern Ireland or to other parts of Europe, and is still acceptable on its own as proof of testing on anything that was on sale up to and including 31st December 2020, and will continue to be accepted as proof until an extended deadline of 31st December 2024.

Any of my current designs which have been on sale previously still bear the CE mark as proof of conformity, however I am in the process of changing over my labels on newly made items of these to include the UKCA mark, and any new designs introduced from now on will include it as standard.

Although the standards and requirements for proof of conformity are continually changing, please be assured that I am always working away in the background, doing everything I can to ensure that my items always meet the newest needs.

Please bear with me while any latest changes are introduced, and forgive me any mistakes with wording either here on the website, or elsewhere on my Social Media etc!
